Week 68: "When can you come back?"

November 28, 2016
So, if you couldn't tell from the subject line or something.. this week was SPECTACULAR!! Once I got some antibiotics in my system, I felt like a new person and was ready to work again.. thank you modern medicine.

So, after that wonderful whirlwind and adventure, we went out and the rest of the week was honestly just one miracle after another.. what an amazing blessing! Anyway, so... One of our families in the ward came up to us on Sunday and said that the daughter they were adopting wanted to be baptized.. so... that never happens.. anyway, so we went to go teach little miss Celsey (she's 12) and she was FREAKING OUT because she was so excited that we were there. We taught her the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we asked her if she had any questions. She replied, "When can you come back?" We asked her when she wanted us to and she said, "As soon as possible." She is so amazing. The next lesson, we came back and she said, "I've been reading The Book of Mormon, and I read the pamphlet to my sister.".... before we had even taught her about The Book of Mormon... she said that she's been using her sister's Book of Mormon because she doesn't have her own scriptures yet. When we gave her a Book of Mormon during our lesson, she almost started crying. Celsey is getting baptized on December 10th. :)

We went and contacted another part-member family and the husband is the member but hasn't been to church in a really long time, and let us right in his home. He called his wife in and we were able to share a message with them about how they can help their children build a strong foundation in Jesus Christ that will help them throughout their lives- Helaman 5:12. He got so excited about it, and exclaimed, "THAT'S RIGHT, SISTER.. FOUNDATION!".. Then he proceeded to call his children upstairs and had them sit down and listen to it too.. we are going there this Saturday for dinner and to begin teaching them.

Another wonderful blessing we have this coming month is to light the world with the Church's Christmas Initiative for this year - #LightTheWorld. Starting December 1st, and for every single day until Christmas, there is a way that we can serve our Brothers and Sisters. There is a powerful video that explains it all and shows you how to get started. Just click on the link right here ----> mormon.org to get started. Do you want to feel the Light of our Savior more powerfully than you ever have before during Christmas? Participate in this. You will bless the lives of so many. To get started, choose a service project that you can do to bless someone's life on December 1st, and invite someone to participate with you (maybe even a non-member). Then, invite them to your home for some hot chocolate or something and show them the video and the advent calendar (I will attach it to this email so you have no excuses). Tell them there's 24 more days they can serve others in small ways.. imagine if they felt that light too and kept paying it forward.. what a powerful way to share our Savior's love in preparation for the celebration of His birth.

This work is powerful. The Gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives. This life is such a blessing. Love you all! Have the best week!

-Our GPS tried to take us off a cliff.. no big deal or anything..
-The beautiful place that I serve. :)
-Our District.. the last week of the transfer is always crazy.. especially when you just got here 2 weeks ago.. Such is life.
